Project Hse Advisor

CAM Industrial Solutions LLC

Provide field and administrative Health, Safety, and Environmental support to the site maintenance, small projects and to CAM’ leadership. The split between field and administrative support should be approximately 70% field & 30% administrative.

  • *Field Responsibilities**:
  • Demand and promote CAM CORE attitude from all employees
  • Attend Start of Shift meetings with various crews
  • Identify and immediately report to CAM Supervision any incidents or non-compliance issues
  • Review Pre Task Analysis (PTA) cards and/or Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) cards in the field and ensure that expectations are understood and met. Mentor employees identified as having difficulty with the completion pre task hazard analysis
  • Ensure all PTA/FLHA cards are delivered to the appropriate member of CAM Supervision
  • Collect Safety Observation Cards (SORs) from CAM Supervision and review them
  • Enter all SOR data into the SOR Database
  • Feedback to CAM Supervision any concerns regarding PTA or SOR participation and quality by CAM employees.
  • Conduct field walks with all new CAM employees using the Walkthrough Guides
  • Review New Hire HSE Advisor Expectations Checklist with all new CAM employees
  • Provide field support for all injuries and incidents. This will include the initiation of employee care, injury/incident scene control, witness interviews, and documentation.
  • Assist CAM Supervision with injury management and modified work program as required.
  • Provide positive recognition to employees demonstrating behaviours that align to expectations.
  • Complete various CAM Audits daily and submit to the payroll team.
  • Complete CAM Area Audits on a regular basis.
  • Coach and communicate with employees in the field to ensure safety compliance, positive morale, and a supportive work environment
  • *Administrative Responsibilities**:
  • Be familiar with and understand CAM Safety Program, the Client's Safety Program, and relevant OHS legislation and make improvement recommendations when gaps are identified.
  • Generate incident notification forms and submit to the HSE Manager and Site Manager
  • Assist in all aspects of incident investigations
  • Generate incident documentation including the following (refer to Incident Response Manual):
  • Witness Statements
  • Investigator Notes
  • CAM Incident Forms
  • Incident Summaries (PowerPoint)
  • High Value Learnings (PowerPoint)
  • Photos
  • Copies of relevant documents (Permit, PTA, etc.)
  • Present Bi-Weekly Communication Meeting content as required
  • Ensure sign-in sheets for all HSE presentations are completed and submitted to the payroll team
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Turnaround Readiness Review (TRR) for all turnarounds
  • Maintain a CAM HSE action register based on feedback from craft to ensure areas of concern are addressed and follow-up is provided.
  • Maintain a personal log book that records significant events and conversations and any follow-up actions that are taken.
  • Attend Bi-Weekly HSE Team Meetings
  • Attend Bi-Weekly TES EH&S (client safety) meetings
  • Attend additional meetings during Turnarounds and as otherwise required
  • Ensure C040 WCB Employers Reports are completed and submitted to the HSE Manager
  • *Qualifications**:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field experience considered an asset.
  • Min 2 years of progressive experience as an HSE professional in Alberta, Canada.
  • In-depth knowledge of Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional certifications such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Enablon, SAP
