BASIS: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT | CLOSING DATE: JANUARY 9, 2026, AT 9:00 AM

The Health & Safety Specialist provides health, safety, and wellness support to all divisions with a strong focus on the Civic Works division, and empowers safety leadership among managers, assistant managers, and forepeople.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting a proactive and sustainable health, safety, and wellness culture across the City. This role champions the City’s commitment to ensuring that all employees approach their work with a safety lens, understand and work in alignment with the City’s Health & Safety Program, and have the necessary training and tools to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in occupational health & safety, or a related discipline, accompanied by 5 years of related experience, and certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

A competitive compensation package will be provided including an attractive salary range of $108,690 - $129,644 (2025 rates - subject to a cost of living increase effective January 1, 2026) plus excellent benefits and enrollment in the Municipal Pension Plan.
