- *Responsibilities**
- Oversee the EHS programs and review safe job procedures and other EH&S documentation as assigned.
- Develop, update, and deliver training to new and existing employees regarding all aspects of the EH&S program.
- Maintain the chemical Inventory data input, bar code creation, inventory update coordination and input, and monitoring of accuracy.
- Assist in meeting the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
- Maintaining SDS collection currency and availability.
- Provide regulatory compliance documentation for chemical shipments.
- Generate in-house SDSs for new and supplied chemicals.
- Conduct quarterly reviews to recognize all new substances, as defined by Environment Canada, made, or imported by Myant X
- Conduct semi-annual fume hood operation surveys.
- Co-ordinate industrial hygiene surveys and maintain sample data as required.
- Evaluate tasks and identify engineering controls to protect personnel and select suitable personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Respond to staff inquiries, concerns, and hazard reports by investigating the nature of the concern and providing the next steps.
- Support the effective functioning of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and the Internal Responsibility System by providing guidance and assistance as required.
- Maintain EH&S supplies inventory and storage and issue PPE as required.
- *Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Chemistry.
- 2-3 years experience in a health and safety role or a strong desire to move into this field.
