POSITION OVERVIEW

The Field Safety Manager is responsible for leading, enforcing, and continuously improving safety performance across multiple operating branches and field teams. This role partners closely with operations leadership, project managers, and field technicians to ensure work is performed safely, compliantly, and consistently across all locations. The Field Safety Manager owns safety programs, field audits, incident prevention, training, and reporting, including TRIR and leading indicators, while maintaining a strong, visible presence in the field. This position requires frequent travel between branches and active job sites and serves as a key driver of safety culture, accountability, and risk reduction. The Field Safety Manager promotes and maintains a strong safety culture across all field operations, ensuring that technicians work safely and return home injury-free each day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide safety policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with OSHA regulations, customer site requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain and continuously improve safety manuals, SOPs, and field guidelines across all branches.
  • Travel regularly to active job sites and branches to observe technician work practices, conduct safety audits, and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct field safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors; address issues in real time, issue corrective actions, and track resolution to closure.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and immediate feedback and documentation to technicians on safe work practices, including fall protection, lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and equipment operation.
  • Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and confirm tools, ladders, lifts, and vehicles are maintained in safe working condition.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans, proactively identifying trends and addressing risks before incidents occur.
  • Maintain, update, and manage OSHA required safety records and logs, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs.
  • Prepare and report safety records and trends to managers and leadership, supporting incident analysis, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Own and manage safety performance metrics including TRIR, DART, near misses, recordable and lost-time incidents, and ensure year-over-year incident reduction.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training for technicians, supervisors, and managers; track required certifications, site-specific orientations, and compliance documentation; reinforce safety expectations through toolbox talks and field engagement.
  • Create and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) templates, site-specific safety plans, and permit documentation; support customer audits, prequalification platforms, and compliance requests.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership to ensure consistent safety practices, close gaps, reinforce accountability, and share lessons learned and best practices across locations.
  • Prepare and present safety reports, findings, and recommendations to management.
  • Develop and manage safety engagement and recognition programs to promote a proactive, safety-first culture.
  • Customer-facing responsibility during audit or investigation.
  • Manage and maintain contractor pre-qualification requirements across customer and third-party platforms (ISN, Avetta, etc).
  • Keep up-to-date on industry and customer specific policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support field operations and cross-branch safety initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10+ years of field safety leadership experience in construction, industrial services, or similar environments.
  • Proven ownership of TRIR and safety metrics across multiple locations.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Experience conducting field audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to travel regularly between branches and active job sites.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
