- *Position Overview**
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator to support and maintain our health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across both shop (manufacturing) and field service operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
The ideal candidate has experience in oil & gas environments, strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively with both field crews and shop personnel.
- *Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety Program Administration
- Maintain and update company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation, COR requirements, and industry standards
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety programs, hazard assessments, and control measures
- *Training & Orientation
- Coordinate and deliver safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors
- Track and maintain training records (e.g., CSTS, H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS)
- Support ongoing safety training and competency programs
- *Field & Shop Safety Support
- Conduct regular site inspections, shop audits, and field safety visits
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-job hazard assessments
- Provide guidance to supervisors and workers on safe work practices
- *Incident Reporting & Investigation
- Lead or assist in incident and near-miss investigations
- Prepare reports, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Track and follow up on corrective actions to completion
- *Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and reports
- Support external audits (COR, client audits, regulatory inspections)
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, incidents, and training
- *Continuous Improvement
- Monitor safety performance metrics (TRIF, LTIs, near misses)
- Identify trends and recommend improvements
- Promote a culture of safety accountability and engagement
- *QualificationsEducation & Certifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation preferred or in progress
- Valid First Aid certification (Intermediate or Standard)
- Valid driver’s license
- *Experience
- 2–5+ years of experience in a health and safety role within oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial services
- Experience working in both shop and field environments is an asset
- Familiarity with COR (Certificate of Recognition) programs
- *Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Alberta OHS legislation and regulations
- Knowledge of hazard assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits
- Experience with safety management systems and documentation

Pay: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
