In line with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) direction, the Department of National Defence has adopted a common hybrid work model where employees work at their designated worksite at least 3 days each week, or 60% of their regular schedule. Some positions may require full-time on-site presence.

Intent of the process

The purpose of this process is to staff a permanent position at each location: Île de Montréal (Quebec), Saint-Jean (Quebec), Valcartier (Quebec), and Bagotville (Quebec).

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established through this process and could be used to fill other identical positions within the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION

▶ ED1. Diploma from a recognized university in a field related to occupation health and safety (OHS, occupational industrial hygiene or any other field pertaining to the duties of the position.

OR

DEC Environment, Health and Safety in the workplace

OR

A Secondary School Diploma (SSD) and an acceptable combination of education (e.g., professional certificates in occupational health and safety relevant to the environment), training and experience.

EXPERIENCES

▶ EX1. Experience in developing, administering and evaluating occupational health and safety programs in an operational workplace (e.g., policies, procedures, action plans, audits).

▶ EX2. Experience conducting inspections and compliance audits related to occupational health and safety in an operational work environment.

▶ EX3. Experience providing recommendations and advice to employees, managers, union representatives, health and safety committees, and central agencies on occupational health and safety matters.

▶ EX4. Experience preparing and delivering training sessions related to occupational health and safety.
