This role is critical to ensuring that all equipment supporting field operations is compliant with regulatory requirements, aligned with company standards, and fully operational in high-demand industrial environments.
The Industrial Safety Watch plays a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of personnel in industrial settings, including construction sites, manufacturing plants, refineries, and other industries. The primary objective of this position is to monitor operations, identify potential hazards, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risk. By fostering a culture of safety and accountability, the Industrial Safety Watch ensures the well-being of all personnel and supports organizational compliance with regulatory safety standards. The Safety Watch is the first line of defense in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and preventing workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards, including fire risks, chemical spills, and equipment malfunctions.
· Monitor active operations to ensure compliance with all established safety procedures and protocols.
· Immediately address and report unsafe practices or conditions.
· Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and near-miss events.
· Ensure all safety documentation, including employee training records, is current and compliant.
· Verify the readiness and accessibility of emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, alarms, and first aid kits.
· Assist in the development and execution of emergency response and evacuation plans.
· Act as the primary point of contact in emergency situations; coordinate with emergency responders as needed.
· Collaborate with management and safety teams to enhance workflows and minimize occupational hazards.
· Stay informed on applicable safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring continuous compliance
Qualifications
· Preferred of 1-3 years’ experience in industrial environments such as oil and gas, with direct industrial experience
· Familiarity with Industry Recommended Practices (IRPs), applicable local, provincial, and federal safety regulations
· Standard safety certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid, CSO, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitor
Desired Skills
· Strong knowledge of occupational safety standards and industrial hazards.
· Skilled in using safety equipment and monitoring tools (e.g., gas detectors, harnesses, emergency gear).
· Excellent observational and reporting abilities.
· Exhibit strong teamwork and coordination skills to seamlessly work with diverse groups and agencies.
· Demonstrate a keen aptitude for identifying risks, evaluating environments, and anticipating potential complications during rescue operations.
· Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to stay calm and effective during high-pressure situations and emergencies.
· Proactive approach to hazard identification and risk mitigation.
