Health and Safety Advisor
Littlewood's Safety Auditing Ltd.At Littlewood’s Safety Auditing (LSA), we are your Occupational Health and Safety Professionals. We are here to assist clients and their business with program development, COR/SECOR auditing, Hazard ID’s and workshops and GAP analysis. LSA’s services are available to any type of business or industry, whether it’s the construction, oil and gas industries, retail or a non-profit we are here for you for temporary, contracted, or even one-time periods.
- *Duties & Responsibilities**
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental Management programs, policies and procedures.
- Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice and support to clients, contractors, colleagues, etc.
- Manage and participate in incident investigations, near miss reporting, and root cause analysis.
- Conduct workplace inspections and follow-up on recommendations.
- Assist clients and Senior Manager with WCB cases.
- Facilitate and participate in safety meetings, orientations and client or company specific training.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, external health and safety authorities, etc.
- Develop risk assessments, site inspections, written reports, etc.
- Maintain client safety records and statistics, ComplyWorks, WorkHub, etc.
- Assist in client shut downs, turnarounds, etc.
- Occasional camp work.
- Travel to/from client worksites as required.
- Reports to and works in collaboration with the Office Manager.
- Other duties as directed or required.
- *Qualifications & Abilities**
- Must hold an active NSCO Designation.
- Min. 5+ years experience directly related to safety, in construction, oil or gas industries.
- Must have current: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS, CSO certificates.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- OHS Certificate would be preferred.
- Previous experience and knowledge of PIR audit tool is expected.
- Tap Root Investigations training would be preferred.
- Intermediate skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to control demeanor and act confidently in challenging and emergency circumstances.
- Reliable and team-orientated with highly developed interpersonal skills, ability to work harmoniously within a diverse workforce.
- Must be self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in English and bilingual in French would be an asset.
