Health and Safety Officer

Construction Health and Safety Officer for large construction sites involving the installation of watermains, storm and/or sanitary sewers; oversee all trades/subcontractors to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety policies and procedures and all related administrative controls; conduct job hazard analysis for all job tasks and ensure development and implementation of safe work practices and procedures for each; ensure use of required personal protective equipment; ensure implementation of emergency evacuation and rescue plans; elimination of unsafe work practices; develop site specific safety plans and procedures; conduct site inspections and complete inspection reports; assess and ensure completion of all required safety training and daily JSA’s; conduct accident and investigations and report completion; early return to work modified work plans. Be able to perform safety audits (COR 2020).

Must have general knowledge of IHSA construction regulations

Must have proficient computer skills

Must be able to work flexible hours (sometimes weekends)

Schedule

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
