Position: Health and Safety Coordinator

Wage: Starting at $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety standards, strengthen our workplace safety culture, and support the well-being of our employees.

Position Objective

To maintain and oversee health and safety program, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe, efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with Alberta OHS legislation.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate and deliver employee safety training programs.
• Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective/preventative actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training.
• Act as a liaison with external safety agencies and regulators.
• Report regularly to management on health and safety performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Alberta OHS Certificate or Diploma required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing or food-processing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and workplace safety practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong computer skills for record keeping and reporting.
