Summary

Provides strategic leadership, program development and oversight of all occupational health and safety and environmental compliance programs across Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and research facilities. Develops, coordinates, and implements occupational and environmental safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization to ensure a safe environment for patients, employees, researchers and visitors. Leads the multi-disciplinary Occupational and Environmental Safety (OES) team to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Doctoral degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time occupational safety and health experience related to general safety, fire protection, accident prevention and/or accident investigation including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
  • Master’s degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time occupational safety and health experience related to general safety, fire protection, accident prevention and/or accident investigation including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
  • Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of seven (7) years of full-time occupational safety and health experience related to general safety, fire protection, accident prevention and/or accident investigation including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.

Note

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
