Our client, a leader in industrial operations, is seeking an experienced Lead Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist to ensure the highest standards of workplace health and safety. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to safety excellence across various operational sites from your home office. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement industrial hygiene and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analyses for various work environments. Perform air monitoring, noise assessments, and ergonomic evaluations to identify and control workplace hazards. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions. Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels. Provide technical expertise and guidance on safety-related matters to site management and operational teams. Ensure compliance with provincial and federal safety legislation and standards. Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting systems. Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee the selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Stay current with evolving industrial hygiene and safety best practices and technologies. Lead and mentor junior safety professionals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certification such as CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial hygiene and safety management, preferably in a multi-site or operational environment. Strong knowledge of relevant safety legislation, regulations, and standards. Proficiency in conducting hazard assessments, risk analyses, and incident investigations. Experience with safety management systems and software. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Commitment to promoting a positive and safe work environment. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
