You will be responsible for risk assessment, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and fostering a robust safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with relevant national and international aviation regulations (e.g., Transport Canada, ICAO). Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard identification for all aviation operations. Lead and oversee incident and accident investigations, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Develop and deliver safety training programs for all levels of personnel, promoting a proactive safety culture. Monitor safety performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting on trends and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation safety legislation, standards, and recommended practices. Manage the safety audit program, conducting internal audits and supporting external regulatory audits. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and documentation. Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders. Promote a just culture where safety concerns can be reported without fear of reprisal. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Safety Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation safety management, with a strong understanding of SMS principles. Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and best practices. Proven experience in conducting thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in safety management software and data analysis tools. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Aviation Safety Officer - CASO) are highly advantageous.
