Safety Management System Officer

Oversee the implementation of safety management systems as an HSE Officer near Montréal. Ensure compliance through risk assessments and develop effective EHS policies across departments.

In this full-time position, you will review existing safety management frameworks, identify gaps, and assign ownership for improvements. Your role will include evaluating the current EHS policies for compliance and effectiveness while developing new policies where necessary. You will also assess machinery for safety compliance and support LOTO procedures, ensuring employee training aligns with updated protocols.

• Review GEV safety management framework for gaps
• Implement updated safety protocols across departments
• Conduct risk assessments to identify workplace hazards
• Assess machinery for compliance with safety standards
• Create a compliance calendar for EHS regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HSE or related field
• 5–10 years HSE experience in industrial settings
• Strong knowledge of Canadian EHS regulations
• Familiarity with risk assessment and safety audits
• Bilingual in French and English preferred
