HSE Inspector
Cbm360tivCBM360TIV is seeking a competent and field-oriented HSE Inspector to support oil sands and upstream operations in Fort McMurray. The role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Canadian safety regulations, client HSE standards, and site-specific risk controls. This is a site-based position requiring strong practical knowledge of industrial safety in high-risk oil & gas environments.
Reporting To
HSE Manager / Project Manager – Canada Operations
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and site walkthroughs
- Monitor compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and client safety standards
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed HSE reports
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices on-site
Education & Qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
- Recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or Canadian equivalent)
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years HSE experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects
- Oil sands or remote site experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Canadian safety regulations
Technical Skills
- Risk assessment & hazard identification
- Incident investigation & root cause analysis
- Knowledge of PTW systems, confined space, working at height
- Proficient in HSE reporting and documentation
Languages
- English (mandatory – operational and reporting language in Alberta)
