CBM360TIV is seeking a competent and field-oriented HSE Inspector to support oil sands and upstream operations in Fort McMurray. The role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Canadian safety regulations, client HSE standards, and site-specific risk controls. This is a site-based position requiring strong practical knowledge of industrial safety in high-risk oil & gas environments.

Reporting To

HSE Manager / Project Manager – Canada Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and site walkthroughs
  • Monitor compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and client safety standards
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Investigate incidents and prepare detailed HSE reports
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices on-site

Education & Qualification

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
  • Recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or Canadian equivalent)
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years HSE experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects
  • Oil sands or remote site experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of Canadian safety regulations

Technical Skills

  • Risk assessment & hazard identification
  • Incident investigation & root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of PTW systems, confined space, working at height
  • Proficient in HSE reporting and documentation

Languages

  • English (mandatory – operational and reporting language in Alberta)
