Safety & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements within the Engineering and Facilities Department.
- Conduct and document quarterly safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews of facilities, equipment, and operational areas.
- Identify safety deficiencies and regulatory risks; develop, document, and track corrective action plans.
- Serve as department liaison during regulatory inspections, internal audits, and safety reviews.
- Maintain and manage the Hazard Communication Program, including chemical inventory control, proper labeling and storage compliance, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management, documentation and audit readiness.
- Maintain all required safety records, inspection logs, audit documentation, and compliance reports.
- Support and reinforce safety training initiatives, PPE compliance, and safe work practices.
Work Ticket & Corrective Action Management
- Review, assign, and monitor work tickets related to safety hazards, compliance findings, and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Track all safety-related corrective actions through the work order system to ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.
- Coordinate with Engineering Supervisors and team members to prioritize work orders impacting life safety, regulatory compliance, and operational risk.
- Verify completion of corrective actions and maintain documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Generate reports for management detailing inspection results, open safety deficiencies, work ticket status, and compliance trends.
Engineering Data & Inventory Support
- Manage Tool Crib operations including inventory control, audits, par levels, and tool tracking.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment, inventory, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Process job requests and coordinate purchasing of tools, parts, and equipment in accordance with company policies and budget guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering.

- Quickly access various work locations throughout the facility to address operational issues in real time.
- Provide clear verbal instruction and regular physical demonstrations of required tasks as part of hands-on training.
- Actively assist with operational duties while modeling performance standards and supporting team members during peak or critical periods.
- Regularly lift, push, pull, move, and/or carry up to 20 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, twist, squat, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning motions.
- Climb stairs as required.
- Properly handle chemical products in accordance with safety standards.
- Oversee multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced casino environment with constant movement and shifting priorities.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to cleaning chemicals, equipment, and varying environmental conditions
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Required: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in facilities compliance, safety coordination, engineering inventory control, or related field. Hospitality or gaming environment preferred.
Education: High School diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Business, or related field preferred. OSHA certification or safety-related certifications strongly preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be computer literate. Excellent typing skills and experience working with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite. In-depth understanding of databases. Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented and the ability to spot errors with accuracy and efficiency. Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with management and employees. Bi-lingual preferred. Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance per company standards. Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position. Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA standards, Experience managing compliance documentation and audits, Strong organizational and reporting skills, Ability to interpret regulations and implement corrective actions
SCHEDULED HOURS
Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Schedules may vary depending on business needs.
