Safety Assistant - Fuel Trucking Company
We are seeking an experienced person to assist our current Safety Director to lead our safety program, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA and all applicable regulations. This roll will oversee driver training, incident investigation, compliance audits and continuous initiatives to our safety record. Candidates must live in or near Newcastle Wyoming or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, maintain safety policies and procedures for fuel hauling operations.
- Ensure a safe working environment and equipment for drivers, including but not limited to, ensuring drivers are complying with applicable federal, state and local safety laws and regulations.
- Conduct driver onboarding, training and ongoing safety education.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Assist with accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Manage safety audits, inspections and reporting requirements.
- Help ensure a culture of safety and accountability across the organization.
- Instrumental in annual review and renewals of truck insurance.
- Ability to assist with logistics and bidding and rating customers loads
- Ability to review and understand Carrier Agreements and Access Agreements
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of safety management experience in trucking or fuel transportation.
- Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCDSA, OSHA and hazardous materials regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communications, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to terminals and job sites as needed.
