Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Station Manager to lead and manage field station operations. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality HSE services to a diverse client base in a safe, efficient, and profitable manner aligned with the company’s mission and Core Values.
The Station Manager is accountable for operational excellence, business growth, safety leadership, team development, and fostering strong client relationships through active engagement and field presence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Provide strong, visible leadership and day-to-day management of station staff
- Coach, mentor, and develop a highly engaged and capable team
- Develop and execute the annual station business plan
- Identify operational challenges and implement effective, solution-driven strategies
- Ensure quality service delivery within the station’s operating area
- Review and approve employee timesheets and expenses
- Monitor third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and efficient service delivery
Business Growth & Client Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers within the station region
- Conduct regular client site visits to support operations, strengthen partnerships, and identify growth opportunities
- Participate in client meetings, safety reviews, and operational discussions
- Ensure alignment with contractual obligations and service expectations
- Seek opportunities to expand services and increase station profitability
People Management
- Determine staffing requirements and lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
- Manage employee performance through coaching, development, corrective action, and terminations when necessary
- Ensure employees have the tools, training, and support required to meet customer needs
Safety Leadership Responsibilities
- Take an active leadership role in safety excellence across all operations
- Ensure all employees follow company Health & Safety policies and jurisdictional OH&S legislation
- Confirm workers are properly trained, supervised, and competent in assigned tasks
- Complete cyclical and as-required safety tasks in alignment with company and legislative requirements
- Maintain regular communication regarding occupational health and safety performance
- Liaise with the Health & Safety Department regarding inspections, inquiries, or incidents
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing all aspects of a business unit, including:
- Daily operations
- Employee relations
- P&L accountability
- Business development
- Service quality and delivery
- Post-secondary education in business or a related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Above-average computer proficiency; working knowledge of SPIRA is considered an asset
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and team development capabilities
Required Certifications & Training
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid / CPR
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license appropriate for company vehicles
- HSE Orientation
- Coordinator / Leadership Training
Additional client-specific training and certifications may be required.
