- *Our Ideal Candidate**
Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this role leads Operations Services, Safety, and Compliance across Midstream pipeline, plant, and terminal operations, EcoGreen retail propane division, and Transco Transportation (trucking). The ideal candidate builds strong relationships, brings energy, supports high‑performance teams, and thrives in a growing, fast‑paced environment.
This position is based in Calgary and requires up to 15% travel within Canada and the U.S.
- *A Day in The Life**
The incumbent will be responsible for creating operational and safety programs tailored to our current operations and continuously advancing them to keep pace with our growing sophistication. This individual will maintain visibility and support to the organization (specifically field operations).
- *Strategic & Program Leadership**
- Lead development and implementation of safety (ex. Personnel Health and Safety), risk management (ex. Process Safety), and compliance programs (ex. OSHA, ABSA, TSASK, TSSA, COR etc.).
- Build and maintain the corporate skills‑based training program and LMS.
- Develop and maintain the Corporate Operating Practice Manual, ensure alignment with field practices, and oversee the effectiveness of key operating practices such as process hazard analyses, operating procedure standardization, and work permit systems.
- Lead incident reporting, investigations, and emergency response coordination.
- Support mechanical integrity and maintenance scheduling with field teams.
- *Safety, Environmental & Regulatory**
- Develop and maintain the Corporate Safety Manual and ensure alignment with field practices.
- Manage environmental reporting and permit compliance with internal and contract resources.
- Liaise with regulators and support HSE communications.
- *Operational Oversight**
- Manage contractor onboarding, documentation, and site access.
- Lead quarterly Safety & Compliance reviews and support site‑level safety meetings.
- Track trends, compliance metrics, and corporate‑to‑site alignment.
- Provide leadership and development for the Health & Safety Team and promote a proactive safety culture.
- KPI data development and reporting to corporate and field staff.
- *Qualifications**
Qualifications
- 10+ years of industry experience.
- Engineering, Environmental, OHS, CRSP, NCSO, or related certification/degree.
- Strong knowledge of safety programs, training approaches, and industry regulations.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and travel to the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with US regulations
- Hands-on experience performing operating tasks or with transportation assets
