- *Overview of responsibilities**
- *Health and Safety - this is 60% of where you will spend your time**
- Monthly Facilitation of the Health & Safety Committee
- Collaborate with Senior Managers to create and implement safety plans that become weaved into our daily routine
- Define, teach and lead by example of what good OHS culture is
- Design, develop and deliver HSE policy across all of our locations
- Ensure Worksite inspection completion and action planning
- Weekly & Monthly equipment and vehicle documentation review
- WCB submissions and follow up
- Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Manage the development and execution emergency response plans in collaboration with relevant departments
- *Safety Reporting - this is about 20% of the time over the course of a year**
- Create, develop and produce a robust reporting system for all safety related statistics
- Develop in depth reports by location/region regarding safety incidents and improvements
- Create and present detailed WCB reports for Senior Management detailing events such as time missed, near misses, nature of injury, return to work time etc.
- *Ad hoc projects - this is 20% of your time and really important work**
- Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' safety records
- Annual CI/OH&S binder completion and distribution
- COR Auditing (internal - every two years)
- *Education**
- College Diploma or University Degree in Health and Safety or related field preferred
- CRSP designation, or working toward - considered an asset
- *Experience**
- 5+ years’ Health & Safety experience is required including at least 3 years in a managerial position
- Solid understanding of OHS laws and standards
- Experience in COR Auditing considered a major asset
- Safety certification training is considered a strong asset
- Ability to translate challenges into solid solutions
