Overview

Position is responsible for providing a secure environment and to reduce security risks in the college campus.

Responsibilities

  • Protect persons and property from unlawful activities and provide a safe and secure campus environment.
  • Observe/report unlawful/ unauthorized activities. Identify suspicious people, behaviors and circumstances that may pose a public safety risk and take immediate and appropriate action to prevent incidents.
  • Patrol campus/buildings. Monitor building conditions and respond to unsafe conditions, hazards and emergency situations. Follow safety guidelines. Respond to public safety alarms and assist with lockouts.
  • Enforce parking regulations, give directions and respond to requests for assistance and information.
  • Handle special assignments directed by the Public Safety Director/Supervisors such as driving the campus shuttle between locations on a regular or intermittent basis, special events, reception/visitor building posts and working in command office as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
  • NYS Security Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum of two years in a professional environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Basic computer skills
  • AED knowledge
  • Fire Alarm System knowledge
  • Customer relations
  • Verbal and written communication

Minimum Salary: USD $19.00/Hr.
