Safety Coordinator

Tornado Global Hydrovacs

The Safety Coordinator supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs within a manufacturing and industrial operations environment, with occasional exposure to construction or field-based activities. This role works closely with the Safety Manager, Supervisors, and Workers to promote safe work practices, support regulatory compliance, and drive positive safety culture.

The Safety Coordinator provides both administrative and field-based support, including safety program coordination, worksite monitoring, incident follow-up, training coordination, and WCB claims administration. While this role does not replace the legislated responsibilities of Supervisors or the Safety Manager under Alberta OHS legislation, it plays a key role in influencing safe work behaviors and supporting compliance.

  • Maintain confidential injury and claims information in accordance with privacy requirements
  • Support return-to-work and modified duty programs in coordination with the Safety Manager and Human Resources

Training & Competency Management

  • Coordinate safety training programs, including onboarding, refresher training, and task-specific training
  • Maintain training matrices, certifications, and competency records
  • Monitor training compliance and notify supervisors of gaps or upcoming expiries
