Safety Advisor
ActalentNOW HIRING - SAFETY ADVISOR
This role will support a civil construction project at an operating facility in Saskatchewan. The scope is expected to include site preparation, earthworks, concrete foundations, underground utilities, access roads, and related civil infrastructure required to support new or modified facilities. Work will be executed alongside ongoing site operations and in coordination with owner representatives and multiple contractors.
Construction activities will take place in a highly regulated, owner‑controlled environment, requiring strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and permit systems. Effective planning, interface management, and field‑level safety leadership will be critical to successful execution.
The project is anticipated to run for approximately 4–8 months and will be supported by a rotational workforce. A full‑time HSE professional will be assigned for the duration to ensure compliance, promote a strong safety culture, and support safe execution of all civil works.
MUST HAVE
- 5+ years of HSE experience supporting construction or industrial projects, with direct exposure to civil works (earthworks, excavation, concrete, utilities).
- Proven experience working in active industrial, mining, or owner‑controlled facilities, where construction occurs alongside live operations.
- Strong working knowledge of provincial OHS legislation and contractor safety requirements applicable to Saskatchewan‑based projects.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with:
- Hazard identification and risk assessment (FLHAs, JHAs)
- Permit‑to‑work systems (excavation, hot work, confined space)
- Contractor oversight and field‑level safety compliance
- Ability to work independently as the sole on‑site HSE representative while maintaining strong alignment with project management and owner HSE teams.
- Valid safety certification (e.g., NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage trades, supervision, and client representatives respectfully and effectively.
- Experience leading incident reporting and investigations, including corrective action tracking and close‑out.
- Comfortable working a 2‑week‑in / 1‑week‑out rotational schedule in a camp‑based environment.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to meet all site access and clearance requirements.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
