Job Summary
The HACCP & SQF Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality systems in compliance with HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. This role ensures that all processes meet regulatory requirements and company standards to guarantee safe and high-quality food production.

Job Summary
The HACCP & SQF Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality systems in compliance with HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. This role ensures that all processes meet regulatory requirements and company standards to guarantee safe and high-quality food production.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and review all CCP monitoring, verification records, and food safety documentation to ensure full compliance with HACCP requirements.
- Monitor HACCP and prerequisite programs to verify proper implementation across operations.
- Lead HACCP meetings, conduct plan reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate food safety records for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain organized, efficient management of all food safety documents and records.
- Develop, update, and prepare SOPs and supporting documentation for production areas.
- Create and deliver comprehensive training programs for HACCP, GMP, allergen control, chemical control, glass policy, SSOPs, and related programs.
- Audit employee food safety practices and enforce corrective actions when needed.
- Conduct mock recalls to validate traceability, labeling, and product identification systems.
- Maintain audit readiness for CFIA, FDA, SQF, and other regulatory or certification bodies.
- Analyze processes, identify trends or risks, and recommend improvements to enhance food safety and quality systems.
- Perform routine food safety system audits and implement corrective actions.
- Serve as SQF Practitioner, ensuring compliance with SQF Code and certification requirements.
- Stay current with food safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Maintain effective communication between the company and regulatory agencies.
- Support additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Food Services.
- Post-secondary education in food science or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in the quality department of food processing, production facility, or related industry.
- HACCP certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems.
- Internal auditing experience.
- Committed to upholding the company's core values in all interactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol screening, vulnerable sector check, criminal record check and other security clearances are required for employment in this role.
