Job Overview
Are you passionate about safety in construction? Do you envision what it takes to build amazing infrastructure? We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety (H&S) Manager or Engineer to contribute to AWS Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams and external contractors, ensuring that health and safety standards are prioritized and improved continuously.
Key Responsibilities
- This field-based role requires daily presence at construction sites around Fredericksburg, Virginia, with occasional travel to other domestic locations.
- Influence the development and deployment of programs that address H&S leadership, planning, operational controls, and continuous improvement.
- Engage with DCPD managers to ensure prioritization of safety across all project phases.
- Review risk assessments and ensure compliance with the AWS H&S management framework.
- Conduct H&S kickoff sessions and review contractors’ safety management plans to enhance project compliance.
- Document safety data and anecdotes for regular reporting to DCPD and H&S leadership.
- Manage both internal and external H&S resources for effective project execution.
- Conduct site visits to monitor safety compliance and engage with construction teams to drive improvements.
- Facilitate annual performance reviews and safety kickoff sessions to promote a robust safety culture.

Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or audit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products at an advanced level.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
- Experience using technology and lean principles/Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience.
The base salary for this position ranges from $121,200 to $163,900 annually, with additional benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
