Safety Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies as per statutory regulations including the Factories Act and guidelines of the Central Electricity Authority.
• Conduct risk assessments for boiler, turbine, coal handling, ash handling, and electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, confined space, hot work, and work-at-height procedures.
• Supervise plant safety during operation, maintenance, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
• Manage fire safety systems and emergency response plans; conduct mock drills.
• Monitor contractor safety, PPE compliance, and safety training programs.
• Investigate accidents/near-misses and implement corrective & preventive actions.
• Maintain safety documentation, statutory records, and monthly HSE reports.
• Develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
• Conduct mock drills for fire, boiler explosion, turbine failure, and chemical leakage.
• Ensure maintenance and readiness of firefighting systems, hydrant networks, and fire alarms.
• Ensure safe operation of HT/LT systems, switchyards, transformers, and DG sets.
• Monitor LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures during maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.

Educational Qualification

Bachelors Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, along with ADIS/PDIS certification from a recognized State Board.
