Hse Coordinator
Drilling Tools International
**HSE Coordinator based in Nisku, Alberta**
Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the Health, Safety, and Environmental program at the location of responsibility. This role will be responsible for the successful implementation of all requirements identified within the HSEMS. The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for compliance to the HSE File Management System (FMS). The HSE Coordinator will adhere to all the DTI HSE policies and report directly to the Company HSE Manager.
- *Education**:
- High School Diploma / College experience preferred.
- PEC-Core Compliance Training / SafeGulf / SafeLand Training preferred.
- RCRA (Resource Conservation & Recovery Act) Training preferred.
- *Experience**:
- Experience focused on behavioral based culture
- Experience in public speaking
- Preferred oil and gas and/or manufacturing industry experience
- Have knowledge and experience in enforcing compliance of Regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, etc.),
- Experience developing and managing environmental program that meets ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience monitoring SPCC and SWPPP plans and environmental sampling.
- Categorizing and properly maintaining waste collection areas for hazardous and non-hazardous waste
- *Qualifications**:
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications relevant to the job
- Setting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills required for the coordination of HSE activities for multiple projects at once.
- *Key Responsibilities/ Essential Functions of the Position**:
- Develop a strong understanding of the DTI HSE Management System and Safety programs and provide training as required by the DTI Training and Qualification procedure.
- Assist in compliance reviews, activity specific assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
- Assist in ensuring compliance to applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Implementation and continued management of a behavioral based safety culture.
- Implement, review, revise and update all level III HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current regulations as needed.
- Development and delivery of effective HSE training program to meet compliance requirements.
- Coordinate training and maintenance of training documentation per the FMS and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in detailed HSE investigations and Root Cause Analysis on all incidents, near hits, and employee suggestions.
- Responsible for the creation of HSE Alerts based on investigation findings.
- Analyze accident/incident information to identify trends and suggest improvement plans.
- Perform routine facility HSE Inspections.
- Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Provide assistance and advice on HSE concerns, making recommendations when necessary.
- Work with H/R to ensure proper records are kept per agencies compliance requirements for all HSE incidents.
- Coordinate with H/R on claims management.
- Analyze all HSE items reported within the REACT system and take action to ensure each report is closed out when completed.
- Implement and maintain a safety, environmental and DOT audit schedule per location, department and/or specific equipment. Ensure audits and any corrective action taken are properly documented for both internal and third-party audits.
- Maintain Safety committees to reinforce safety awareness in a manner that promotes cooperation and improved morale.
- Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural improvements in challenging environments.
- Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
