Construction Safety Manager

My client located near Meriden, CT is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee warehouse safety, fleet safety, and security across all locations, supported by the Safety Compliance Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure operations follow safety policies and procedures.
• Analyze injuries, behaviors, and trends; implement strategies to reduce incidents.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
• Conduct accident investigations, root‐cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Compile and present safety data and reporting.
• Administer workers’ compensation, OSHA logs, and corporate safety reports.
• Define physical job requirements and coordinate with occupational health providers.
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and safety committee meetings.
• Deliver warehouse and driver safety training.
• Support additional initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of safety management experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in risk management, emergency response, compliance, investigations, and audits.
• Experience overseeing a large fleet of powered industrial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and recordkeeping.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem‐solving skills.
• Strong leadership and ability to work effectively with teams.
