Director of Campus Safety
Ripon College Board Of TrusteesRipon College is seeking experienced applicants for a part-time Director of Campus Safety. In this role, the Director will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the campus community, including faculty, staff, students, and guests.
Reporting to the Vice President and Dean of Students, the Director of Campus Safety will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of safety protocols and practices on campus in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the safety and security of the Ripon College Campus with respect to all of its constituents.
- Development and implementation of comprehensive public safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Engage with the campus community through coordination of training programs for faculty, staff, and students on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and crisis management techniques.
- Respond to emergencies and lead crisis management efforts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all campus safety and security-related concerns, inquiries, and incidents.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services to enhance campus safety and emergency preparedness.
- Provide key support in the preparation and dissemination of emergency communications, alerts, and notifications to the campus community during emergencies and significant events.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies through coordination with Student Life, Human Resources, Communications, Plant and other departments across campus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent; or a minimum of four to ten years related safety experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience in campus safety, law enforcement, emergency management, or a related field, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
- Enthusiasm and positive attitude toward creating a caring, diverse, and student-centered environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, including all requirements as indicated by the College's insurance carrier.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity software.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force and readily reach, push, pull, lift, or otherwise act as needed for a given situation.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies on short notice, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
