Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives within the trucking industry. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your expertise will foster a culture of safety awareness, reduce workplace incidents, and promote occupational health across our fleet operations. Duties

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all trucking operations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations by performing root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive training & development programs on safety procedures, first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations, and OSHA compliance.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims by ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and adherence to workers' compensation law requirements.
  • Maintain detailed report writing for incidents, audits, inspections, and safety performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety consciousness and ensure occupational health standards are met or exceeded.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, occupational health practices, and workers' compensation law specific to the trucking industry.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or transportation environments with a focus on safety management.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to analyze data for root cause analysis.
  • Certifications in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety standards, EPA regulations, and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety).
  • Ability to conduct effective training & development sessions tailored to diverse teams.
  • Skilled in conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions based on root cause analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills for collaborating across departments and engaging employees at all levels.
