Job Description
The EHS Specialist will conduct comprehensive audits, generate detailed reports, and deliver actionable recommendations to enhance facility safety performance. This individual will report directly to the safety leadership and collaborate closely with the site lead to provide guidance on all HSE-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a visible safety leader within the facility, promoting safety values and expectations.
- Model and reinforce a positive safety culture across all teams and contractors.
- Support site leadership in communicating safety initiatives, policies, and performance expectations.
- Facilitate daily or weekly safety engagements, toolbox talks, and safety observations to encourage safe behaviors and hazard awareness.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of required permits, plans, and records.
- Conduct scheduled compliance reviews to identify deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks through regular hazard assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs).
- Develop and support corrective action strategies to address identified risks.
- Track and trend incident data to anticipate future hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of facility operations through routine site inspections focusing on equipment, processes, and worker behaviors.
- Perform comprehensive HSE audits with documented findings and improvement recommendations.
- Provide follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions and ensure sustained compliance.
- Deliver detailed audit reports, safety metrics, and root-cause analysis where applicable, with photo documentation.
- Offer recommendations for operational improvements aligned with best industry practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including training enhancements and process optimization.
- Provide regular updates, consultation, and strategic guidance to the site lead.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety issues and implement solutions efficiently.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in safety, OSHA regulations, safety programs, audit, compliance, EHS, and health & safety.
- 10+ years of HSE experience.
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
- Proactive safety leadership and environmental health knowledge.

This is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr.
