Safety Manager

Role Description Join a confidential construction and mining operation approximately one hour outside Fort McMurray, where you will lead safety programs, strengthen compliance, and drive a high‑performance safety culture. Rewards, Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary in the range of $118,000 to $137,000 Annual short‑term incentive bonus target of 15% Company benefits after 90‑day probation RRSP match program after 90 days with 6% employer match Three weeks’ vacation (four weeks available for highly experienced candidates) Five personal days off Location allowance available (amount under review) Company vehicle plus relocation support for the right candidate Tasks & Responsibilities Lead development and implementation of health & safety policies and procedures Partner with operations to address safety challenges and support site initiatives Conduct field inspections, audits, documentation reviews, and compliance checks Lead or support incident investigations and follow‑up actions Administer, update, and develop local safety programs and reporting tools Deliver relevant, effective safety training to teams and contractors Maintain strong field presence through daily onsite engagement Represent the site in safety‑related client interactions and industry committees Position Requirements 7–10+ years of progressive HSE experience (mining, construction, or energy highly preferred) Experience managing holistic safety programs rather than siloed tasks COR audit experience (active or lapsed acceptable); CSO or NCSO considered strong assets Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or equivalent experience Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills Comfortable working in rugged, remote environments with a field‑forward mindset Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software (e.g., Intelex or similar) Ability to commute daily to a site‑based role approx. one hour outside Fort McMurray #J-18808-Ljbffr
