Job Responsibilities
- Administer/manage construction safety at the site and put in place a system to manage risk areas at the site.
- Actively engage with the client to understand their safety expectations, requirements and standards. Ensure these are integrated into the project safety management system.
- Collaborating with Main contractors for safety planning, ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to and fostering a culture of safety across the site.
- Foster a culture of safety consciousness among all project stakeholders, encouraging a proactive approach towards safety.
- Shall review and approve the JSA/HIRA of each area submitted by safety officers of contractors.
- Conduct regular audits at the site to identify weak areas and suggest corrective measures.
- Perform random checks on Permit to Work to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Incident Management and documentation for reporting and record
- Encourage reporting of near misses besides other incidents, recording and analysing them, planning and implementing corrective actions
- Organizing HSE promotion activities like toolbox talk, pep talks, monthly HSE celebrations, periodic HSE reviews, organizing housekeeping drives, walkthrough by top officials
- Submit plan for toolbox talk and pep talks
- Provide guidance and training to site personnel on safety practices and protocols.
- Ensure continuous improvement in safety standards by promoting a culture of learning and adherence to best practices.
- Regularly monitor the team’s usage of the EHS software. Provide constructive feedback and recognize those who use the system effectively. Address any challenges or resistance to ensure full adoption.
- Organize and lead committee meetings, and discuss safety performance, challenges and strategic decisions.
- Qualification
- Graduate in engineering in Mechanical/Electrical/ Civil/ Construction Management/ Environmental Science
- Must have a SCTE&VT/AICTE recognized degree or diploma in industrial safety with a paper in construction safety 15 years Above, out of which 10 years in HSE Function
