Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to champion workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. In this vital role, you will oversee health and safety programs that foster a secure environment for all employees. Your expertise will help identify potential hazards, conduct safety training, and promote a culture of continuous safety improvement across manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilties

  • Maintain a visible presence on active projects through regular visits, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of scaffolding, cranes, fall protection systems, confined spaces, ground disturbance, and other high-risk construction activities.
  • Organize safety training, first aid coverage, PPE distribution, and maintain safety records.
  • Conduct site inspections weekly, FLHA compliance, develop Emergency Response and health and safety plans as applicable.
  • Ensure safety boards, and records are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Monitor contractor compliance
  • Perform incident investigations.
  • Support office teams with legislative updates, program audits, and safety reporting.
  • Collaborate with management to improve safe work procedures and practices.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work out of town for short-term assignments.

Qualifications

  • Certified Construction Safety Officer (NCSO).
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in commercial construction or industrial safety preferred.
  • Current Auditor Certification with the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA).
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED – Level C certification. Advanced first aid would be an asset
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation, and Code.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
