Health, Safety, and Environment Manager

HSE Job Role – Fit-Out & Joinery

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer in fit-out and joinery projects is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with all HSE regulations on site and in workshops.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and company HSE standards
• Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and method statement reviews
• Monitor fit-out and joinery activities such as carpentry, cutting, sanding, painting, and installation works
• Carry out regular site and workshop safety inspections and audits
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers and subcontractors
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare reports
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors on safety matters
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials, chemicals, and waste
• Monitor fire safety, electrical safety, and machine guarding in joinery workshops

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or certification in HSE / NEBOSH / IOSH (preferred)
• Experience in fit-out and joinery works
• Knowledge of carpentry tools, machinery, and finishing materials
• Strong communication and reporting skills
