We are seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to join our team as the Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Operations. In this pivotal role, you will implement and oversee comprehensive EHS programs across multiple facilities, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative regional EHS strategies aligned with our global business goals.
- Lead and coordinate EHS compliance programs across various sites and countries, applying consistent policies and standards.
- Manage and mentor EHS professionals within the regions, focusing on leadership development and accountability.
- Collaborate with global EHS leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance global initiatives and share best practices.
- Oversee compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations and permits for all assigned regions.
- Manage regional EHS budgets and resources effectively to maximize program efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive EHS experience, including 5 years in leadership roles managing multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective EHS strategies and programs.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards across the Americas, including Canada, the US, and Brazil.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to influence executives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional).
- Experience translating complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable EHS programs.
- A collaborative leader who excels at building partnerships across business functions.
Compensation
$174,000/year to $244,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
